Sharon Wolbers Pendola has spent her career in education, teaching students from pre-school to college in Southwest Michigan and Sierra Leone, West Africa. Her primary focus has been teaching reading and stewardship of our natural environment. Sharon has written for television, radio and government training programs. This is her second book. She is married to Michael Pendola. Together they have three children and three grandchildren.

Michael Pendola is a professional illustrator and designer. For over 40 years he has created artwork for books, magazines and nationally recognized brands with a strong foundation in both traditional and digital techniques. His work has been featured in major publications and campaigns, showcasing a talent for visual storytelling that engages audiences and enhances brand identities.

Buttonbush Publishing was formed by Michael and Sharon to establish a professional identity and maintain consistency  for all aspects of the process from manuscript to the reader.

The Button Bush is a shared childhood favorite for its unique clusters of spherical, white blossoms that resemble golf-ball-sized Sputnik satellites. Set against the plant’s dark green foliage, they are truly otherworldly.
